So far, the system is working great using Ubuntu 17.04-beta2. The new
NVMe drive I ordered is also performing at the expected specs. I picked
up one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MDRUXNZ/

I copied over just my MySQL tables to that drive and it is blazing fast!

root at dev:~# hdparm -Tt --direct /dev/nvme0n1

/dev/nvme0n1:
  Timing O_DIRECT cached reads: 2910 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1454.55 MB/sec
  Timing O_DIRECT disk reads: 4484 MB in 3.00 seconds = 1494.02 MB/sec

I have been tracking the kernel bug reports, and it looks like the team
at canonical is getting closer to identifying the swapops bug - I am
holding off on updating the kernel until they figure it out.

Using libvirt to separate customer/dev functions, this box now serves as
my SVN server, running Postfix/dovecot, MySQL databases and hosting half
a dozen webapps (Tomcat 8 instance) I've built with a few users logging
in each day. No complaints so far!
