Why not firewall incoming AND outgoing internet connections at home ?
Specifically authorize devices to send data on a limited set of ports,
and then rate limit that data. Might need a learning mode to work out
what the device needs to operate. Perhaps put your less than
trustworthy devices on a cordoned off VLAN. Does pfsense do this
already ?
