[TriLUG] Hello all

Ah... nostalgia. :) We had one of those in our office about 9 years ago.
We used it to monitor the status of our continuous builds, it would flap
its wings and say angry things when we broke the build, and make happy
sounds when it was fixed. We still have some internal documentation about
setup and usage, but I don't know where the actual device ended up so I
can't confirm any of it. A quick summary seems to indicate that there's a
wireless dongle that comes with it, which presents to the OS as a USB sound
card, which you can drive with ALSA's aplay command. The additional
physical functionality (flapping the wings, blinking the eyes, etc)
involved binary bit twiddling over what I assume was an exposed USB Serial
interface from that same dongle.
I did some grubbing around in our source control system and I was able to
find ancient copies of Python libraries for interacting with a TuxDroid,
but they depend on an underlying HTTP server written in C, which exported
an API that the Python libraries interacted with. To my surprise, I can't
seem to find copies of the Python libraries elsewhere online to point you
at, or any copies of the C daemon at all. The Python libraries are bundled
with GPL licensing, so with a bit of care I can clean it up and publish
those on github if anyone wants a copy of it. I've asked around to a few
friends about copies of the HTTP->USB shim, and if I can put my hands on a
working stack of code with appropriate licensing, I'll put it up on Github
and link to it from here.
Best of luck,
Aaron S. Joyner
