Security groups seems to be the name used in Amazon EC2. It seems to be the 
firewall.

The firewall in Lightsail is just called "firewall" and is a gui. I'm not real 
confident of what the firewall is doing as the nmap result for port 1194 is the 
same (forget what filtered/closed?) whether the firewall gui says it's allowing 
port 1194 or blocking it. The fact that I can ssh to the tunl ip (10.8.0.1) on 
the lightsail server indicates that the openvpn connection is working. However I 
can't route beyond that.

This is why I'd like to see the iptables rules.
