[TriLUG] Recording our meetings

Hey again, everyone-
As you've no doubt noticed, we haven't had recordings of our last couple
of meetings, ever since Eric's brief but very much appreciated stint as
our recorder ended. And if we're being honest here, it was also a bit
spotty in the months leading up to him taking over. We've had a number
of technical issues, on the hardware side as well as with software.
That being the case, we're looking for volunteers and/or solutions to
the problem. What I mean by that is that if you have a camera that you
would be willing to let us use each meeting (ideally that records in
720p, but there is that whole "beggars and choosers" thing), we would
love to hear from you. If you would like to actually *do* the recording,
that would be great, but it's definitely not required.
Our esteemed Vice Chair, Mauricio Tavares, is also interested in the
possibility of hacking together a recording setup using an old RPi he
has, plus some other assorted hardware. If you would like to get in on
that project, please reach out to him at raubvogel at gmail.com
I don't know if we need software recommendations or not; it will largely
depend on what format whatever camera we're able to use produces.
We do want to eventually get actual recording equipment of our own, but
we're also pretty budget constrained at the moment. Hence the call for
volunteers.
So that's it folks. What say ye? Anyone have a camera that they could
bring to the meetings?
Thanks!
Brian
