[TriLUG] CIFS: 'file name too long' on a file name that is not long

Ah ha! I found the smoking gun: I believe that it is 
<https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/commit/?h=v4.9.58&id=5ed70f7db9afe5e4e5cc1fa2239676e3b2d2c5b2>, 
which appears in Debian's linux-image-4.9.0-4-amd64 package. For some 
reason this condition is triggering for me when it shouldn't. Now to 
figure out why… Suggestions welcome!
