sounds like weird hardware to me.

o are you using a kernel with patches for the recent Intel problems (dont)?

o run memtest a couple of times

o run cpuburn for 24hrs.

o are you running out of swap?

o run smartctl on disks

o have you changed any hardware?

o pull out any cards you don't need. run off the mobo VGA if you have a video 
card. run on the minimum memory until you find what hardware works and what 
doesn't

o run an eraser over the contacts for memory and plugin cards. Reseat the cards 
several times to make sure there's good contact.

o if you flex the mobo just a little (press on it in a few places), does the 
machine crash? How about jiggling power connnectors?
