[TriLUG] Mailman issue ( 10th )

I have been meaning to ask this question for a couple of days, but
keeping fighting.

I have a machine ( new ) that is a successor to an old machine. The old
machine has been running Mailman for quite some time, and the user wants
to preserve all of the history as we move to the new machine.

Following instructions, I installed mailman in the new machine ( Debian
9 ), and then copied /var/lib/mailman/[archive, data, lists] to the new
machine. I also copied /etc/aliases and learned about the genaliases
command.

After copying all of those directories, I ran check_perms, and, after a
couple of corrections, it was happy.

The big complaint at this point, is that the Administrator ( and
probably other users ) can not read the Archives.

What am I missing? ( I know, there are any number of things that I am
missing, but .... )

Thank you,
Brian
