[TriLUG] Fedora Respin (i386/i686)

Debian has just gotten back on my "Good Side", after their Debian 9.4 XFCE
CD1 (32 bit) installed, first time, on my Vintage 2006 Eracks Laptop.
(Back then, Ubuntu 6.06 was, not only current, but their Install CD was
distributed in San Francisco, almost as widely as the AOL CD. But, since
it worked, first time, I was hooked).

When Ubuntu 6 LTS went out of service, the Upgrades stopped supporting the
Hardware (especially the Radeon 9000 Video chip, due to Licensing issues).
So, with the Ubuntu upgrades (beginning with 8), Eracks turned Text Only.
(And yes, I should have been able to figure it out, but I am, only now,
learning my way around Microcode, especially when Non-Free).

Things got even worse, when I tried (in 2011) to install Debian 6 on it,
and fell into a bug, where attempted Framebuffer Console Support, instead
gave me a Black Screen, forcing me to connect via ssh to do anything,
including Clean Shutdown!

(Apparently, limited manpower, marginalized older, less common Hardware).

So, after installing the correct Radeon Firmware, I have an awesome
Laptop! So add my vote for Debian, which pledges continued 32 bit Support,
as well as having a community (including me) dedicated to Rehabilitating
older Hardware.

Good luck!

Kenneth Parker
