This prompted me to double check my Amazon Smile, which I had set to

I first saw it mentioned on this list.

Regardless, when I login and check my smile settings, I am greeted with
the following: "You have not yet generated any donations.  $0.00",
which makes me think WTF as I *know* I have made more than a few
purchases since setting this.  

So digging a little bit deeper, I see two things: One this only applies
to eligible purchase items, and %deity% only knows if I purchased
"eligible items", and two (this is the important part): "Remember, only
purchases made at smile.amazon.com, (not www.amazon.com or the mobile
app,) generate AmazonSmile donations. "

So there you have it folks. Unless you remember to specifically use the
smile.amazon.com and not amazon.com your charity won't receive one red
cent.  Undoubtedly this is a deliberate move to avoid paying out, which
strikes me as a bunch of BS because the charity designation is part of
my account.

So, as a PSA - remember to go to the correct URL!
