[TriLUG] Cable modem / Router recommendations

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at Trilug,

A friend asked me for a recommendation on a cable modem / router for use 
with Spectrum, aka SlimeWarner.  They're looking to buy instead of 
renting theirs.

It has been ages since I've looked into the cable modems and a lot has 
probably changed over the years.  Last time I looked, I believe Toshiba 
with Docsis 3.0 was the go to brand and standard. The one I have that I 
rent from them is an Arris and it sucks in my opinion as it needs to be 
rebooted every month or so as it just quits working.

Does anyone have a recommendation that I could pass on?
