And thank you to Pete for pointing out my mistake regarding patent
attorney vs patent agent - I honestly had no idea of the difference
until I heard him mention it and had to google to see the difference. I
will try to keep them correct going forward on any future such
announcements.

An interesting presentation on patent law tomorrow night
will be given by Shane Trent, a regular in the robotics
and embedded groups.
This presentation was originally meant to be a for-fee
presentation at the recently cancelled IEEE conference,
but is now offered online for free to anyone (even if
you are not a member of IEEE).
Shane is one of the 'good guys' that graduated with an
undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and a
master's degree in Materials Science and worked for many
years as an engineer before becoming a patent attorney.
