[TriLUG] need to move to a larger disk with ext4 filesystem & boot sectors (Ubuntu Mate 20.04 on Ryzen)

If I dd /dev/sda to /dev/sdb where sdb is larger than sda, should I be 
able to pull the old small drive out, boot the new big drive and somehow 
expand the partition with the ext4 filesystem in it out to the limit of 
the drive and  make the filesystem bigger that way?
