Hi all, note that the photo link got wrapped and is broken (at least it
is on my email client). The link in the references section at the
bottom of the email message works though. Thanks, Scott

I made this gadget to use in my sophmore digital logic lab class in
college a few decades ago. It's designed to make working and tinkering
with a small number of 74XXXX logic chips very simple.
On the small phenolic board above the breadboard I installed an eight
dip switch module, eight prewired LEDs, and four toggle switches. They
are all designed to be wired using the DIP sockets mounted just
underneath each component (or set of components).
You can see that it has a fairly beastly power supply brick, and over
on the right side there are four terminals to provide far more current
than necessary at 12V, 5V, Ground and -5V. If I were building this
today I would have added some overcurrent monitoring and one or more
circuit breakers. I recommend not giving this to anyone who wouldn't
   use it responsibly.
There are a few logic chips pre-stuffed into the board, left over from
whatever the last thing I needed it for was.
The chips are two 74S381N ALUs, and a 74LS00 quad nand gate.
This item can be collected from our house in Cary near the intersection
of High House and Cary Parkway. Reply to this message or send email to
chilcote at yahoo.com subject "breadboard thing" if you would like to own
   it.
   Thanks! Scott
