Reading about this parameter, it doesn't imply a loss of a mapped drive 
because it talks about being "invisible to [the user]".  I'll give it a 
try anyway, after I have a chance to see whether the net use /persistent 
makes any difference.  Speaking of which...

Is this any different from ticking the "Reconnect at logon" box through 
the GUI mapping process?  I definitely have been doing that.  In any 
case, I've tried the net use just now and we'll see if that behaves any 
differently.
