[TriLUG] Above Gigabit Network

Hi Listers,

I have residential Google (GFiber) Gigabit Internet with a powered
GFiber box (blue light).  Using one of the two Google Wifi (hockey puck)
routers with a Netgear GS116Ev2 plugged in providing wired Ethernet.

I've ordered a new computer that does 2.5 Gb.  This will be my first non
10/100/1000 network device.  Thinking about upgrading the switch.
Should I look at an switch that has SFP input?  Is it as easy as
plugging RJ-45 into a SFP adapter which plugs into the switch?

For me, Ethernet above 10/100/1000 is uncharted territory.

Thanks for any intel you can shed.
