Wes - as you stated, above 5Gbe is rare/expensive while 2.5Gbe are at an 
affordable price point.  I went with the TrendNet 8-port based on its 
availability.  Your "same thing" from TP-Link had a two wait from Amazon.

Also purchased a Plugable 2.5Gbe USB Ethernet Adapter for my System 76 
laptop running Ubuntu 20.04.  Plugged the adapter into a USB-C socket 
and it was recognized without having to mess with any Realtek drivers.

Now back at the TrendNet switch, have two LEDs indicating 2.5G links.
