[TriLUG] OT: Mail Barcodes, Amazon Barcodes

Hi Luggers,

Please excuse this off-topic question [things have been a little quiet 
lately].

For security, we shred anything with our name and address: address 
labels, Amazon shipping labels, etc.  Wondering if we should include the 
ubiquitous barcode below city, state, and zip code?

Additionally:
1) Do bad guys walk around with barcode readers?
2) How long does USPS mail/Amazon barcodes remain relevant?  After 
delivery, assume they would age out.
