I saw this, but I think that Oracle are a bunch of bastards, so I didn't 
want to have anything to do with them, even for free. I'm glad they worked 
out for you.

It's likely I'll be going with Netactuate. They're the people who sponsor 
TriLUG through hosting pilot. They've been nice to us, so I'm going to be 
nice to them.

The scene has changed a lot since I first looked at Linode about 10 years 
ago. Then providers were spinning up single CPU VMs for people like you 
and me. Presumably this wasn't a big money spinner. Now they're providing 
whole racks at a time. I take it that companies are not providing their 
own hardware any more - they pay a data center to provide it. People like 
you and me are below the noise level. Or you have people like David Both, 
doing it from home.
