1. Apply changes: After saving the changes to ~/.dircolors, apply them
to your current shell session by running:
bash
eval "$(dircolors -b ~/.dircolors)"
To make the changes permanent, ensure that your shell's configuration
file (e.g., ~/.bashrc) contains a line similar to eval "$(dircolors
-b)" which
is standard on most Linux distributions.
