Hello Everyone!

Ahead of elections, we are publishing the list of current candidates. this
is NOT a complete list of who can run however! if you would like to
announce your candidacy or nominate someone the day, you can! blank spots
will be on the ballot for write in candidates.

if you are serving as a proxy to vote on behalf of another TriLUG member,
just let the steering committee aware of the situation so we can
accommodate accordingly (and know that you are allowed to cast more than
one ballot).

*--------------------------------- Current Ballot
--------------------------------------------*
*Lee Warren*:
I am the current Public Relations Officer. I have plans to further expand
its public reach, along with promoting Linux and Free Software in general.
I would also be representing Linux for new generations, as I am Generation
Z.

*Brian McCullough:*
long time member of TriLUG and current TriLUG Treasurer running for
re-election!

*Steve Jones:*
long time member of TriLUG and current Steering committee member running
for re-election!

*Maryam Abkar:*
I am currently part of the TriLUG Steering Committee and am running for
re-election! I hope to expand the work TriLUG has done in providing great
talks and being a community space for open source shenanigans in the
triangle. I have ties to the university LUG and am currently my day job is
being an IT Specialist for the US Forest Service.

*Will Richey:*
I have enjoyed serving on the Steering Committee this past year and would
enjoy continuing.

*Dwain Sims:*
Dwain Sims, nominated by the Steering Committee, has been attending TriLUG
since 2008. He became a Triangle resident in August 2000, relocating with
his wife and 3 (now 4) kids from the Bay Area in California. Dwain has a
Master's Degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University, and has
worked for so many companies that it's getting hard to count them. Among
these were Lockheed, Sun Microsystems, SteelEye Technology, Fusion-io,
SanDisk, and finally SUSE where he started in 2018 and retired in January
2025

*Alex Johnson:*
Alex is a dedicated community member with excellent organizational skills
and a passion for open source. They would be a great asset to the Steering
Committee.

*Hope to see you all there!*
*Maryam A.*
