[TriLUG] Seeking Advice from other Tailscale users

Hi friends,

Does anyone in the audience run a Tailscale network with an exit node at
their ISP point-of-presence? I do: my firewall box is a Tailscale exit
node, and I use it to obscure my mobile device's Wi-Fi traffic on
untrusted networks.

Lately the performance is often terrible, and I routinely get
notifications on my mobile device about "your exit node is offline."

I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this. I don't notice any
performance problems when I'm home on my house Wi-Fi (and thereby not
making use of the VPN exit node). Could my ISP be responsible? Could
it be some issue with the Tailscale client? I understand Tailscail is
just a coordinator on top of the WireGuard protocol, and the VPN
connections among devices are all P2P, so presumably it shouldn't be
related to any problems on their servers...right?

Any tips will be appreciated!

-Brian
