hello group --

I know that one study group just finished up and that another has just
begun, however, it looks like both groups used/will be using the 3rd
Edition RH302 Osborne Certification Press book (written by Michael
Jang) for class discussion and test preparation.

As you also may know, Red Hat has upped the ante in the RHCE world by
releasing their new OS, Red Hat Linux 9. I know that Mr. Jang is
working on the 4th Edition of this very book and he has contacted me to
solicit comments, suggestions, and gripes (if there are any) related to
the 3rd Edition book. Feel free to reply to me and/or this list and I
will make sure to get all the feedback to the author.

Overall, I feel that the 3rd Edition text was making an excellent study
companion for the Orange Room group, but as with any human work, there
is room for improvement. I would like to help Michael create the best
possible RHCE study guide and both of us would certainly appreciate
your help. I have a feeling that smaller things like typos and
formatting will be covered by their technical editors, but whatever
feedback you'd like to provide would be appreciated. I'm trying to
direct my criticisms towards the larger picture of [1] structure and
layout of the book, [2] effectiveness of the material presented and the
self-tests, and [3] info to include that may have been left out.

Good luck in your studies and "Thanks!"
