Well, I can't really say as far as Sawfish or Enlightenment
go, but I use WindowMaker and it has no trouble remembering
where my windows go.  I generally have 4 xterms open on
desktops 1-4 (one each), and they start up in exactly the
same configurations each time I log in.

I know this doesn't help with those windowmanagers, but
if you're looking, you could do a lot worse than WindowMaker.
