excuse me?! (was Re: [triLUG] any clues?)

May I interject? Hope so, if not, sorry to tick anyone off.

I've found Mandrake's "mandrake campus" to be pretty useful. I've been going
through it and I've learned quite a bit about linux in general. Being a RH
user, and might I add an almost "biggot", I would hope that RH would
concider something of this nature. The "campus" is designed to teach
newbies, and folks coming from a M$ background (like me), as well as
experienced linux users, general info from what GPL is to how to admin your
box. If RH decides to do something like this, please let me know, I'll be
glad to be on the beta team. I would be looking at it from the outside in,
since my background is the big ol' redman product.

I've been using RH linux since 5.1 and I can tell you the only manuals I
have are 6.2 and they weren't helpful to a me at the time. Now that I go
back through them with some linux experience, I can tell you it's easier to
understand. I would expect the new manuals to be better since the old ones
have had time to be revisited and revised for the new one.

I've gotten the most help since I've joined TriLUG in all honesty. The folks
from RH that attend have been very helpful, as well as the steering
committee and other users.

Hope this helps.

The documentation has improved greatly since 6.2. Trust me.

Why the $30 set was dumped is beyond me. I thought that was a dumb move.
Maybe, just maybe, if a whole lot of people send emails bitching about it,
they'll bring it back for 8.0. And that's a big, fat hint directed at all
you good people who would also buy the $30 set if it still existed.
