Which I like.  The screen power-saver cuts in pretty quickly when I'm
on battery.  I didn't say it caused the hang (not a crash), just
that twice I noticed the same hack running -- which I disabled
when I did the gpm disabling.  Laptop's been up for six continous
hours, so I'm cautiously optimistic the gpm thing was it..
