In the text below, Tony describes how he is going to do this one differently
than the first. Since I've been criticized for quoting from these
"distribution reviews" in the past, anyone interested can go to
www.lockergnome.com and subscribe to the Linux "penguin shell" newsletter.

Tony writes, "We're moving toward Distro II. At this point, it's slated to
start on Monday, February 18 - next week. I'm still awaiting a few crucial
distros and plotting out a grid that will give me a much more objective view
of each distribution. I've also changed the format a bit. During the initial
series, I had a difficult time digging too deeply into each distro, due to
the time constraints I myself placed on these reviews. Distro II will review
each distro over a two-week maximum rather than a single week. That will
give me ample time to both find a comfort level with each distro and to dig
much more deeply than I was able to in the first round. Another item of note
about Distro II is the fact that it will be split up pretty evenly between
consumer-oriented distributions and others that are much more specialized.
Astaro, NetMax and Trustix are all touted as secure Linux solutions, while
OpenLinux, Libranet and Redmond are targeted directly at the consumer.
Lindows has, for now, passed on the opportunity for review, citing the
extremely early state of their first release. We'll work them in as they see
fit. Regardless, I'll be splitting up the overall review into those two
chunks - "consumer" and "special." It should keep the focus a little
tighter."
Tony Steidler-Dennison

P.S. In the last few weeks, Tony has also said that he was going to review
some of the little known more specialized distributions we've probably never
heard of before.
