I believe a list needs a critical mass before it becomes
successful.  The dev list has just reached that critical
mass recently and I believe that to split it again so
quickly would be the best way to lose all that momemtum.

I think that's one of the reasons why some of the other
lists haven't done much.  Not enough critical mass.
