I know I should have asked this while the topic was fresh but...Oh well! My question is this: Are there any file size limits to the tar command? compressed or uncommpresed? What is the best way to throw it to tape? These questions came to me after i did a tar -tf on one of my backup files and kept getting "tar: unexpected eof " type errors.
