Just found it.  X :1 -query hostname

Guess reading man pages = good

Jeremy (can't remember which one) had sent a command line when I asked this
the last time.

I know there is a way to connect to a Solaris server using X command without
it bringing up my KDE. Something like 

X --quiet :1 servername

Is this correct?
