I picked up: SAMS Teach Yourself Shell Programming in 24 Hours, for around $12, in like-new condition from an Amazon.com affiliate. SAMS books are not great reference works for gurus, but I have often found them to be what I needed when I felt raw and new to a subject. Rich Hammer
