Hello

Back when I was into tcl/tk I wrote a command line interface and gui for
splay. I wanted to be able to give it a list of tunes to play, and then
navigate the list. ie. stop, start, skip, repeat, etc. Since then,
there is a plethora of such tools so I abandoned it My suggestion to you
is just write one. Shouldn't take more than a few hundred lines to write
if you only do command line stuff.
If you want help writing it, contact me and I can help you more.

Take a look at CAJUN; you can find the project on Sourceforge. It is for
text
consoles or serial displays and there is support for IR stuff. I'm using an
older version of it on an embedded PC in my car with mpg123 to play the
music. I
don't use an IR remote, though. I modified it to use a keyboard on the
console
because I've been too lazy to hook up a nice keypad.
