Politech and C|Net have reports from Declan McCullough on the Commerce
Dept. Digital Rights Management workshop held in DC this past Wednesday.

I'll assume most of us on this list don't relish a future where technology
is developed and used at the whim of the same people who fought the VCR
all the way to the Supreme Court, so if you haven't contacted your
Senators and Representatives to tell them to oppose DRM, time is running
out. All it takes is a 30-second phone call to register your opinion -
it's seriously that easy.

Jesse Helms (R-NC): (202) 224-6342
John Edwards (D-NC): (202) 224-3154

If you want to read up on the issues, check the URLs in my .signature.
But please make your voices heard on this issue because, if the corporate
handout of DRM becomes law, it will affect all of us who work in the
technology industry in a very bad way.
