Settings -> 
Configure KMail -> 
Network -> 
Sending -> ( Select your smtp server) -> 
General-> 
Modify -> Check the "Server Requires Authentication " check box 
-> Fill in "Username" and "Password". 
Security -> 
"Check what the server supports" -> 
OK -> Apply -> OK
