[TriLUG] gcc switch hitting

Howdy.  

Just installed Mandrake 9.  It's pretty nifty, but then
I had been using the RC1 for some time.  

However, I hadn't attempted to setup courier-imap on it.

courier-imap doesn't like gcc-3+

Mandrake 9 ships with gcc-3.2

I've got the gcc-2.96 rpms installed, and can see that
both of them are in there.  the link for gcc still
points at gcc-3.2, and I was wondering if there is a
way to get the configure script to use gcc-2.96 for
it's testing, rather than 3.2 .  

Read the install files and the readmes and can't seem
to figure this one out.
