[TriLUG] SAMBA for authentication of Linux systems

Hi all,

I'm using a SAMBA server that is configured as a Domain Controller.
I have been able to login to the domain from

	Windows XP system, that was easy, join and go.

	Mandrake 9.0 system, I had to manually join the domain with smbpasswd,
but it's not too bad.

	I can't make Redhat 8.0 systems authenticate against the domain. I
just finished upgrading SAMBA to the latest stable release, a few
minutes ago, no dice.

	Winbindd is running.
	SMB.conf has
		security = domain
		passwword server = *
	nsswitch.conf has
		passwd: files winbind
		groups: files winbind

	Any ideas about what I'm missing?

TIA,

	Kevin
