Ben,
You state you've never used it but then you turn around and dis it
in the very same sentence? Get a life, Ben. If you don't know
anything about something, let me suggest that you just shut up about
it.
For the record, Mandrake is more security concious than any other
linux distro that I've worked with (that includes, Red Hat, Debian,
and Gentoo). How many other distributions have security built in,
out of the box? How many other distributions let you choose your
security model during installation (note that I'm not talking about
firewalls, which many let you do)? How many other ones include
kernels specifically compiled for security?
So, Ben, while I know you like Debian, just don't even try to
describe other distributions without having at least installed
and run them yourself (preferrably for a long amount of time).
