It wasn't added in my current RH 8 installation nor in 7.x IIRC what I
ended up doing was using ide=nodma for install and then once setup had
to disable DMA for the cdrom drive only using hdparm. That last part
only applies to 7.x though. I haven't had any problems with DMA locking
up RH 8 when the cdrom was in use post-installation.
