I would suggest using Partition Magic as well. I used it on my laptop to
shrink the XP partition to give me room for RH. Worked like a champ.
As far MVS DASD utilization, a recent install of Z/OS(what IBM calls MVS
now) needed 12GB. Of course, we're doing development and install
everything but the kitchen sink. On the same machine, an installation of
S/390 Linux takes just under 2GB. Again we installed just about
everything.
