You probably managed to remove the "Window List" applet from your
panel. Right-click on a blank area in the Panel, choose "Add to Panel",
choose the "Utility" menu and then "Window List." This will restore
that applet to your panel. (Note: those instructions are for RHL 9, the
location could be slightly differently in other versions or
distributions.)
Also, you should be able to use alt-tab which will cycle between all of
your windows. If you have a minimized window, alt-tab will maximize it
as it cycles through, thus restoring it from the "twilight zone." :-)
