While I am not as hard nosed about being on topic as my friend Sinner,
I do think the Windows/sshd thread pushed the outer boundaries a bit.
There are other groups in the Triangle who specialize in Windows system
administration and I think that this was much more of a Windows (and
likely closed source) question than Linux & Open Source.
Still, if I have to live with the occasional off topic thread to live
without hard nosed moderation, I have a delete key and know how to use
it. TriLUG is by far the most useful LUG mailing list I've seen to
date. Yes, the signal to noise ratio can be pretty bad but there is
also plenty of good tech advice going around.
