If you like Gentoo you may also be interested in Crux
which can be found at www.crux.nu. I've done a small
write up on it, but by no means comprehensive. It can
be found at http://dailyrant.org/crux_review.html , 
Crux has an irc channel on FreeNode, #crux and there
is a good mailing list linked from the homepage also. 

Its a great system for those who believe less is more.
The package system is simply wonderful and the
community surrounding the distro provides a wealth of
support. If you have a spare machine and feel
adventurous than I really recommend trying it out.
