Personally, I think that the period meanderings into off-topicness 
(including topics that I have no interest in) have added very much to 
the flavor of TriLUG.  The recent flirtations with pseudo moderation 
have left a bad taste in my mouth, but having recently left the 
Triangle area I guess my opinion carries little weight (I'm still here 
because it is still my favorite LUG, I view my time in PA as temporary, 
and I am sure I will be back in the Triangle in the next few years).  
The LUG has changed a lot since its genesis.  Maintaining a strictly 
on-topic mailing list is one of those things that I fear will 
ultimately deter from the overall TriLUG experience.
