Hey,
As you may have read already, the the P4 M has power saving and useful
features for laptops. So, I would recommend the P4 M over the P4 any
day. The IBM R40 comes in around the same price range as the Dell, and
has the P4 M process or in it. I really like the ThinkPads. Of course,
I'm a little biased, seeing as I work with them :-). I have worked
with all the ThinkPads and they're high quality laptops. I think you'll
be a bit surprised at the size of the G40, if you have seen the A31p
laptops by IBM, it's bigger than those. So you might like to check out
the R40.
