Let me ask you this... under Debian can you create a snapshot of an LV 
and then mount the snapshot?

I can't seem to do that under any stable version of Red Hat through 9.  
No, I haven't tried Severn.  It's a known bug with Red Hat (according 
to Bugzilla, but no response from RH to it yet) but I'm wondering if 
the other distros can do this or not.
