Thanx for the suggestion, Joseph. But, simple file-sharing is already
enabled. My daughter has this working on a Win2k box. She, too, suggested
that it may be a foible of WinXpPro that's at the root of the problem.

Do you have a win2k server that you can test with? XP has funky file
sharing issues. Check to make sure that you have Simple File Sharing
enabled. (In the Windows Explorer, go to the tools menu, then to Folder
Options. Click on the View tab and scroll all the way to the bottom of
the Advanced settings list box.)
