Check out imapsync.  It will do precisely what you are looking for, and 
is relatively good at doing it, in a pretty speedy manner.  I'm 
considering using a slightly customized version of it to migrate a few 
thousand users from IMail to Cyrus IMAP.  So far in testing it's worked 
well.  :)
