[TriLUG] begging for SCSI help

Hi folks,

One of my co-workers has obtained (inherited?) a Sun StorEdge D2 array
and would like to set it up as either a Raid-5 or a Raid-0/1 device
attached to her Dell desktop running Red Hat Linux.

So my questions are:

 1) Can anyone recommend a SCSI card that would work with this
"external SCSI-3" device? For instance, would an Adaptec
    19160 be appropriate:

http://adaptec.com/worldwide/product/proddetail.html?prodkey=ASC-19160

 2) The Dell box is currently running Red Hat 7.3 but she would
like to upgrade to either Red Hat 9 or RHEL v3 WS. Can anyone
make any comments about differences in RAID support on either
    version?

Many thanks in advance!
Ed
