They do indeed work with Linux. Its hard to find a drive now that 
*doesn't* work.

I also tested TigerDirect's return policy. The first drive I bought 
didn't SEEM to work, so I returned it. They graciously let me swap it 
for another model for no fee.

I realized my problem was User Error (tm), and things have worked fine 
ever since.
