Don't waste your time on SATA with a laptop since the real bottleneck
isn't the communications mechanism--its the drive itself.  Replace the
existing 4200rpm HD with a 7200rpm laptop HD (such as the new models
from IBM/Hitachi) and thats about the best you can do.
